    Mike,

The first BBS I used was the Commodore Connection BBS in Louisville,
    Kentucky.

Someone on Ham Radio told me about it.

The Second BBS I used was The Volunteer BBS also in Louisville.

I saw the telephone number for it in a monthly local computer news
    magazine.

I was still using the C=64 and 300 baud VIC Modem back then, but I
wanted to learn what I others KNEW about the PC compatibles.

"I" even helped a Friend I new from Church with a problem He had with
Windows 3.0 on His Gateway 2000 386 PC from what I learned on GT.

I learned about the <<PRISM BBS from seeing something about it
somewhere, it may had been from the same monthly magazine?

That was the first FIDO BBS I used and then I learned about
MOES Tavern BBS, Pan-American BBS from seeing its Origin Line in some
    messages.

I'm not sure, but I think when <{PRISM BBS moved away was when I started
using Your BBS(s), now Capitol City Online BBS.

Now I have both GT Power echos and FIDO echos and some other Net echos
that I can read messages from.

    Thanks!

PS There were two postings of this message with the same Date/Time.
Most probably because there are two machines in use on the BBS.

    Right?

The first BBS I used was the Commodore Connection BBS in Louisville, Kentuck
The Second BBS I used was The Volunteer BBS also in Louisville.

    Ed,
I remember that one. I am not certain which one was the very first I logged onto, but it was sometime in late 1987. The ones I remember using the most when I first started were The Operating Room (I think that was it, it was an Apple board), the Valley PC Clone (GT), The Help Line (GT), Deckmann's Exchange (RBBS, later GT), The Softstone (GT), and Project Orion (GT). Heard about the Volunteer BBS one one of those other boards and started calling it.

I also remember the Louisville Free Public Library board, and one other one that I think ran GT but wasn't a part of the network. It's sysop was a Clipper programmer, IIRC. Then there was Elmer T's, The Live Wire, the Kentuckiana Online Club, and the board that was run by the computer department at Manual High.

In the late 1980's-early 1990's, there were a lot of Commodore boards around Louisville also. Seems like a lot of them were part-time, or were always busy, and I could only get online with them early on Saturday mornings.

There was at least one that ran PC-Board that was around for quite a while, but I can't remember the name from memory. Called there a lot, too, before I got my own board going full-time.

"I" even helped a Friend I new from Church with a problem He had with Windows 3.0 on His Gateway 2000 386 PC from what I learned on GT.

I learned a lot by asking questions on the boards.

Now I have both GT Power echos and FIDO echos and some other Net echos that I can read messages from.

    Thanks!

You're welcome! You know, the Prism is now somewhere in New York State, but she is still my FIDO hub. ;-)

    Right?

Not exactly. I think I need to verify the duplicate setting on the web board.
There is only one posting over on the GT board. ;-)

    Mike,

    I think I used Deckmann's Exchange for a while on the C=64, that's been
    a L O N G time ago for me to try remembering.
But I probably still have the floppies I used to store messages on, if I
could find them amounst the junque here.

IIRC the LFP library BBS was FIDO, I looked at it once and it didn't
appeal to me so I never went back......Now I use FIDO all the time don't
    I?

I joined the Manual HS BBS and used it a couple of times.
I am a duPont Manual grad.

I remember a Apple BBS that had a time limit, but allowed me to log on
again after another user had used it.

One Saturday, after I had ran out of time on the BBS I waited awhile and
tried reconnecting but no one had called the BBS and it wouldn't let me
    in.

I think I called it at least 12 times that day but no one else had
logged on so 'it' wouldn't let me in even after several hours had
    passed by.

IIRC I am not sure it was on FIDOnet or not, but I do think it ran the FIDO
BBS software. If not FIDO, then it ran OPUS. It was pretty utilitarian (I think that is the right word). It reminded me more of being logged onto a menu-driven mainframe than a BBS.

Of course, being at LFPL, it may have been on a big machine.

I think that may have been the Operating Room. That sounds familiar. It

    Mike,

I can't remember the name of the BBS but it was in the house of a local
Apple Club official (President maybe?). I can't remember his name....
His first name was Tom is all I can come up with right now.

I'm not thinking it was the Operating Room.....I remembered now, the BBS
was The Precinct...That's pretty good for my mind ain't it?

But I make my reports with great fear and trembling for fear of losing
my access to Your CCO BBS. ;-)

I have a bad case of 'hoof in mouth', but I don't have to tell you that.

If I 'notice' anything else about CCO I'll post until I can't post no
    more.

The web portal not having a 'log off' feature comes to mind, but I've
talked to You about that before so I just close the Tab in Firefox and
go do something else when I'm finished on the portal.

    It's No Big Deal!

Have a nice Memorial Day tomorrow!

I can live with it in its current state, but I wouldn't mind being rid
of the glitches. I hope he just got tied up with his job, etc., which
would understandably keep him from working on it.

Maybe when he first posted "the next beta will be in January" (which
