    Hi! Jean,

In a message to Tom Walker you wrote:

.Hello gang, as Holger says. This from him !

I just want to inform you and the gang on WIN95 that the
distribution of Fidonet echoes in Scandinavia is at standby.

The latest echomail I have received in WIN95 are dated
at oct. 22nd plus one message from Ed on the 23rd.

.What did you do, Ed ?

    It's not Ed's doing, this time. :)

There are some Fidonet personalities creating havoc & confusion for certain echoes in parts of North America & Canada, and parts of Europe, Scandinavia and our former-Soviet friends. It's a "cranky old man" syndrome that will eventually pass, or, will spell the death of Fidonet as some of us know it. Never fear, as the Win95 echo will continue regardless.

Holger knows he can get help from this writer. He has an ace up his sleeve in any case, as I think he's close to getting ADSL/broadband installed which will give him more options (e.g. NNTP).

    Cheers,
    Paul.

    Ed,
Besides the WindowsA echo, have you noticed any disruption in any other FIDO echos? Do you know if Holger is a user or a sysop? He is always welcome to read the echos here, too.

I am not aware of any squables going on, but it sounds like there must be one.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

    Mike

    Mike,

I don't know of any other FIDO echos with problems.

His message # 7850 talks about the connection being lost for a bit.
I forgot to Forward this message from WindowsA to You about it.

    Hello All,

As you can see I'm back again. It seems to me that I haven't lost any
messages posted during the week that the Fidonet connection between
Zone1 (USA) and Zone2 (Europe) occurred since I have now 302 messages
    to read/reply.

    Have a nice day,

    Holger

I think Holger is a Sysop in the Aland Islands between Sweden and
    Finland.

One of His repeat messages to me in WindowsA (7849) had the word
"HAM-BOX" in the Message Header just right of the Message Number.

That makes me wonder if that is the Name of His BBS.

2:20/228 may be His BBS or it could be one that He uses.

I did a look through my FIDO text files that I have saved and found this message back when I was using Doc's Place BBS.

I know You have a FIDO BBS List that You can look at to check it out for
    me.

    Thanks.
