No, the Kill Protect is a switch that prevents the receiver, or anyone else except the sender and the sysop, from deleting a message. Back in the 1980's/90's, that was an option on some BBS software. "None" means that
you are not restricting the ability to delete.
I think the empty messages are a left-over of a misbehaving BBS utility
that deleted messages but left the headers behind. I have tried deleting them as I find them but, because there is no message text, sometimes the system thinks they are already gone. :)

Like I get when trying to delete piggyback programs from the "Uninstall"
optoin n Control Panel, eh? You try deleting & thesystem syss, "There's
nothing there!" (The ",bonehead" is implied!
