I'm still waiting on the ECommStation stuff to arrive...I got an
emai
>#DS> on Jan. 11, saying that it had been shipped...but so far, nothing.
When

>That's not good. Where did you buy it from?
Sorry it took me so long to get back on this. The guy forgot to ship
it, and then forgot to send the password to unlock it. I finally got it
in February, but my hardware setup would not let me work with it.
As a result, I'll still be getting GT echoes and netmail via QWK
packets from Mike Powell...but, the main software switches to
Synchronet, so I can get both telnet and dial-up access...the latter
with the Argus 32-bit frontend. I understand another GT Sysop at one
time was doing a similar setup.
This way, once everything is set up, I can use my laptop with my
cellphone data interface program to telnet into the BBS from anywhere.
The worst thing about Synchronet setup is that it's tedious...and
building the screens can be quite difficult. Synchronet comes with a
bunch of utilities, as GT did...but I liked GT's setup better. It's too
bad that GT was never ported over to Windows/32-bit for fossil and
telnet access.
