Yeah, fido gate will need a password for sure, and it is two words. :)
The reason you have to have a password is that you will need to logon as that user and have it access every ftn message area. GT, IIRC, joins every user to the first (default) area by default, but the user has to access each other area that they want to read. In the case of fido gate, that would be each area that you want exported.
Not sure if I did this quote thin right. That's one of the questions I
had was how to do quotes. I did not see the command on my GT as I did on yours. Also is there a way to change the text color of this message to
    some other color?

Looks like it worked! I had to edit line 179 of the SYSOP.BBS file to get
the quote option added to my message menu. There are different lines in
that file that you can edit which will change the various prompts.

Next question I am not seeing on my GT is ability to use Tag in the file area. Yours I can do, the arrow key works, but on mine arrow keys do
nothing but throw me back to the menu.

That is interesting. Honestly, I think it should do it by default BUT just
the other day, I had trouble getting mine to work. Just like for you, it
threw me back to the menu. I don't really have a clue what caused it to do that as it is the first time I have seen that happen.

I changed that quote character to the greater than > symbol...to
better work with QWK readers, etc.

I had debated getting a GT 20 setup for Netmail and the GT Sysop
echoes, and also a deal with FIDOGate and InterEcho for the tossers (I
have a registered copy of InterMail and InterEcho). But, I thought I saw
a post from you awhile back that there was a problem with either dates
or numbers in the message areas. FIDOGate does use the .MSG format, and converts it to the GT20 .MES format, and vice versa. While the FIDOGate
docs said it was for GT 16-19, I think it'd still work for GT 20, since
the only change was the main executable for it.

Well, on my system, fidogate does not import messages in order... if you
have 25 msg files in the directory, it will import them in this order:
    1, 10, 11, 12, 13 [...], 2, 20, 21, etc....

So your message bases have messages that are not posted in order.

Also, netmail could be done but the GT echos would have to be moved with
QWK or fidogate. MBAG and MDIST broke when the GT julian date rolled over above 9999. Instead of going back to 0000, it went to 10000. Because the julian date is restricted to 4 digits, and GT is using the first four
instead of the last four, each julian day is 10-calendar days long now.
You can only bag echos every 10 days. :)

I was working on a fix for that but because I was the only system running
GT and trying to bag echos the GT way, it was really low on my priority
    list. :D

As long as they are in there, I don't care if they're in order.
Besides, at times, my system, and others, can't connect every day.

    I can understand why.

That just makes it worse... if you cannot connect every day, by the time
you get the messages no telling what kind of order they will be in. The replies are out of order with the original messages and it makes following
    a conversation difficult.

I have pretty much stopped carrying any high-traffic echos on the GT
system... that way, there are usually not more than 10 msg files waiting to
be tossed in any one echo at any one time.
