• HOW MANY NODES??

From DARYL STOUT@CAPCITY to ALL on Thu Dec 9 00:35:00 2004

I'm working on setting my BBS up for telnet operations, and using ECommStation (my Christmas present) to run OS/2 Warp, since it's better
on handling virtual comports with legacy DOS programs than with Windows.
I'll be using the SIO-VMODEM deal from Ray Gwinn as the fossil driver
and virtual modem. My goal is to have it going by Spring, 2005, if not
    before.

My question is...how many nodes GT can actually handle?? In the CB
simulator info in the host mode documentation, it says there can be up
to 99 channels (98 for users, and 1 for the Sysop to broadcast
messages). But, by the same token, it tells of only supporting comports
    1 and 2, with support for non-standard comports 3 through 8. I've got an
older file telling of someone running 4 copies of GT under DESQview.

I know that the main GTPATH directory has to be where the main files are...and just only the "required ones"...door batch, if needed...plus
    GT.CNF, GT.KEY, GT.LOG, GT.WIN, GT1900.EXE, GTSYSID.BBS (or GTLDIR.BBS
if using logon options), HOST2.BAT (for node 2), KEYBOARD.MAC,
SCHEDULE.BBS, and SYSOP.BBS...are for the other nodes.

My thanks to Mike Powell, for his assistance already. :)

    Daryl Stout, 035/005

PID_FILE.BBS seems to support 32. You will need a special SIO build to
support more than 4. GT itself can handle anything you can configure it
with as regards base addresses and IRQs.... I think.

I'll see what I can do with that...thanks.
