    I just want to wish everyone safe and happy Memorial Day with friends and family.

    We really need to come up with a better adverb for this holiday. After all,
    you wouldn't say "Happy Funeral".

    Now taking suggestions. :)

    Over here on ANZAC Day (an equivalent public holiday here), we say "Lest We Forget".

    Our ANZAC Day is a fairly sombre reflection on the horrors of war and the remembrance of those who didn't make it back home. There's a lot of dawn services and street parades for returned servicepeople. It's also the only day that the game of two-up (which was popular among WWI soldiers) is legal outside of a casino, at least in the RSL (Returned Service League) clubs.


    ... To be, or not to be, those are the parameters.
