• I just made a cool Mystic

From MeaTLoTioN@FREEWAY to All on Thu Feb 21 13:41:00 2019
Hey y'all,I'm not sure if anyone is interest
ed, but last week I registered a domain"bbsforever.com" and
I've written an app for Mystic that can add/edit/deletedns e
ntries for a domain name.Right now, on my BBS I have i
t set up so that if you want a subdomain off of"bbsforever.c
om" you can just log in, add an entry and it'll be live within a
few moments (dns propagation dependent of course). As an exa
mple I've used it to set up "tqw.bbsforever.com" to point to my bbs
domain of "bbs.erb.pw". It uses the CNAME record type.I've op
ened this up to anyone who would like to use it, as a way to say than
kyou to all the people who have shown me help and support an
d kindness with myBBSing woes and wins.If you
haven't already logged on to my BBS, head over there soon and you'll
find the applicaton in the doors menu for now until I re-organise my BBS
(which will be happening soon too i'm sure).---Best re

    Hi MeaTLoTioN!

Your message arrived here completely garbled.
There are some strange codes intervened in between ASCII text.
I would be very happy if the next time you ONLY send ASCII text, as it is near impossible to read the mess that arrived here.

    Thanx in advance!

    Hi Vk3jed!

    28 Feb 2019 21:24, from Vk3jed -> Richard Menedetter:

The message was in ANSI, I was able to read it using my ANSI viewer.

And I was not able to read it with my ASCII viewer.
As ASCII can be read by ASCII and ANSI viewers, I would propose to use that! Otherwise communication is massively hindered.

I could theoretically write all my messages here in Hungarian.
I do not do it, because there are people reading here that do not understand Hungarian.

Let us stick to something that is universally readable by all participants of this echo.
Otherwise people will start to post RoboFX codes ...

    Hi MeaTLoTioN!

    28 Feb 2019 12:46, from MeaTLoTioN -> Richard Menedetter:

What is interesting is that the message you copied and pasted that was garbled had no ansi in it, that bit was just plain text, only my auto-signature has ansi, which I have disabled for the purpose of this message as a way of testing.

I am talking about this message:
    https://vserv.ricsi.priv.at/unreadable.jpg

It arrived here as this garbled mess.
So either you sent it like that, our somebody on the path between our 2 nodes changed your message to include those additional characters.

however ansi I assumed (perhaps incorrectly) was a global standard and

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANSI_escape_code

As far as I know the A in ANSI stands for american ... that does not sound very
    global to me.

I thought was "universally readable" and anything that can't read ansi
is probably too antiquated to be used anyway.

If you would take UTF-8 as an example I would understand.
I know ANSI only to communicate some color information in the menu of ancient BBSes.
I have not seen any "new" implementation of ANSI in the 21st century for a new usecase.

I mean I was using ansi back in the 80's and 90's when I first
    started using bbses.

    Correct.
That is also the only real world usecase I have seen.
As colorful menus in ancient BBSes.

Anyway, for the purpose of this message I have turned off my signature

It was not only the signature but the whole message.
    See picture linked above.

    But thank you!
    This message was completely readable.

as I already said, which should mean that no ansi codes of any kind
    are being sent (by me).

And none were added on the way.
It arrived here without any ANSI codes.

I cannot however know however if any get added
by Mystic or any other hubs as this message passes through them.

    It was not the case

I hope that you will accept my apology

    Appology accepted!
Thanx for making your communication readable again!

    Thanks, and best wishes,
Christian aka MeaTLoTioN (in plain text).
