Has anyone tried the NEW Ultimate 64 firmware that enables TURBO mode? I have yet to use it on the Elite because it makes use of the HIRAM and CAEC. I need those alotted for my LTK. I would like to try it on my other machine though with the Thunderdrive. I am curious to see if anyone has played with it? One person I know that has used it, said that he was able to get it up to 20MHz before the BBS started acting weird and unstable. Anyway.. just some food for thought......

I have been using it since it was released.. It runs very well.. If I want to use the higher speeds I can, with my BBS I only go at 20mhz because of the software not being able to keep up with it and writing to disk at the high speed and my uIEC/SD causes corruption in the REL files when writing the records.. Otherwise, it works great...

Have you tried with the new hyperspeed option in the ultimate64? (so use the "internal uIEC").
It now should also support REL files.

I played with it for like 10 minutes but have not really worked it out.. It
is supposed to be blazingly fast, unfortunately I run one of my BBS' on that computer and I need partition support, which at the moment it doesn't offer. There will be either Lt Kernal support or CMD support in the future but for
now I will stick to my uIEC/SD so I can keep things seperate for my BBS.. If
I get a bug and decide to play with the hyperspeed option I will post about it..

I think it is an API to directly access the SD card.
But you need a modified kernal, and your programs need to use kernal functions.
