    All,

I have worked out a design based on JediMatt's work a few years ago to hook a Geneve 9640 to a VGA monitor using a GBS8200 video converter. I have added a couple of things to the circuit.

I am using it right now and connected to the BBS. It looks pretty damn good too. Sharp and all the colors seem to be accurate.

You can read more about it on AtariAge:

I am planning a run of boards for 9640, AVPC and EVPC

    Hey Chris,

I am using your SCART now along with the recomendations for the two cables
and the HD Video Converter. I believe the monitor I am using is a 21" widescreen monitor and the display is excellent. It uses a HDMI input on
the monitor. We are now in the real worl with monitor usage.

Thanks for all your hard work.

    Beery

Good to know you are using the SCART-Genie 9640. Feel free to post your experience on AtariAge too. I have more boards in stock now to build. I
have filled all my current orders.

The SCART-Genie is supposed to be demonstrated in the UK next couple of
months at one of the conferences. Should be some increased interest then.

I moved my GBSVGA Genie 9640 to my 24" monitor and it looks pretty good. I have found out that there is a bit of fiddling with the trimmers and the menu of the GBS8200 to get a good clear picture on VGA. When I order some PCBs
for it I will post what my settings are so users can start from there. I do think the SCART-Genie is a bit better but this is still pretty damn good, especially when the SCART monitors are so hard to come by. But with the SCART-HDMI upscalers it should be workable as well.

I'm happy that I was able to finally contribute to a piece of hardware that is very useful and has been needed for quite some time. Once I get completely done with the GBSVGA Genies then I have another project in my head I want to get down on a PCB.
