• FTP Trouble

From Ed Vance to Midnight Rider on Thu Jun 30 17:33:59 2011
    Mike,

From 6:10PM to around 6:17PM today, 30June2011, I logged on using FTP but didn't get a .QWK packet after waiting about a minute, so I canceled the session and tried a couple of more times to get a .QWK packet without suscess. I logged on in FTP one time manually and was able to enter my name and password. I went as far as issueing the BINARY command and then Quit the session, and got a good FTP disconnect, so I tried running my script one more time but the .QWK packet didn't come so I quit the script.

I logged on here to the web portal and checked the last message number for the WINDOWSA echo and it didn't have any newer messages than what I already have, so I thought I'd give you a message about my 'troubles'. ;-)

    God Bless.

    Ed,
That may be why you didn't get a new QWK packet. If there were no new messages, this software will not generate an empty packet. I think some BBS QWK interfaces will, but SBBS will not.

By the way, I am about to do a bit of shuffling with the FIDO QWK numbers. If you have not downloaded a QWK packet since you left this message, let me know.
If you have, go ahead and finish replying to it, upload the REP, but don't download another QWK. Let me know. I will do the renumber then so that you get a fresh QWK with the new numbers, and none of your replies get lost.

    Thanks!
    Mike

    Mike,

I went ahead after I read your email and grabbed a .QWK packet.

    Everything looks fine.

    God Bless,

    Ed
