• What Again?....

From Ed Vance to MIDNIGHT RIDER on Sat Jan 21 22:00:00 2012
    MIke,

Amtr Radio, Area 1028 is missing.

I was wanting to send a message to Richard Webb.

I checked on the Web Portal and GTHam and HAM (Dovenet) showed up
but Amtr Radio was missing in the list.

Can You get it back, please?

Richard posts in the LS_ARRL area but the rules for that area are for
ARRL type messages only, and I don't want to break the rules.

RIchard is also in the Bat area but my message would be off-topic there
    too.

    Here we go again.................

    Thanks.

    Ed,
As best as I can tell, area 1028 has always been missing. It is on the GT Board, but it looks like it was overlooked when I was adding areas to the Web/FTP system. Should start showing up as soon as I receive traffic in
it. I have added it this evening.

    Thanks!

    Ed,

    You're welcome Mike,

Being a SYSOP can be hazardous to Your health, it could drive You crazy!

And I could be someone who is helping it affect You.

    Along that line.

Have You read any of my Testing messages and Replies to them in
    WINDOWSA?

Don't change anything on the BBS because of what You read in those
    messages.

You might pull the switch on my Log On access to CCO BBS. <GRIN>

When I started using Firefox 8.0 on the Vista box while this XP box was
being scanned for Malware, I noticed that my downloads from net2ftp.com
was changing the file name sent to me from CAPCITY2.QWK to index.php .

When I got back to using the XP box I am still seeing the index.php
filename, but it's simple to change the download file name to my normal capmmddx.qwk filename now that I know about what's happening.

The first day I saw this happen was December 16, 2011 .

I deleted FF from the XP box and am using Opera.

I think I may still have some Malware on the XP box because Opera is
working real slow a lot of times.

Today when I turned the UPS on and started the XP box up I used Opera to
look at my Linksys Router Log file(s).

I found out the Router doesn't keep Log info when the AC Power is
    removed from it.

So today before I shut down I will look at the Log again to see if I can
    see any unusual entries.

The DSL Modem, Router, XP box, 2 External HDs and LCD Monitor all get
their power from the UPS and the UPS gets turned off after the XP box
gets done shutting it's self down.

In the Routers Log Help it mentions a Linksys Log Viewer that can be
used to look at Log files that are sent to the computer instead of
    staying on the Router.

I am going to try that out for a while after I get the Log Viewer file
    from Linksys.com .

Hmmmm... I may play around with that when I get a chance. I am curious as
to why it would do that. Glad to hear you have a work-around, though.

    Mike,

It might just be on my coputerS since I noticed it on both of them just
after I started thinking I had a Malware problem on the XP box.

Let me know what You see on net2ftp.com .

    Hey!, A New Origin Line!!!

On my ROUNDTUIT list I want to find out where the ath.cx address is
located, to me it looks like Czechoslovakea or another European country.

I'll just ask You where is the ath.cx part located? Thanks.

Well, it belongs to dyndns. If memory serves, there are some countries
that sell some of their domains to make money. Maybe that is one of them,
I do not know. I picked it because it was very short and would fit in an origin line. ;-) At the time, I thought the .cx might be Christmas
Island, but maybe it is Czech.
